Overview:

SignalChem Diagnostics mRNA Cap 2'-O-Methyltransferase, GMP-Grade (50 U/μl) is a recombinant enzyme derived from vaccinia virus. It catalyzes the 2'-O methylation of the first nucleotide in the 5' cap structure of mRNA, using SAM as a methyl donor to form the Cap1 structure. For this, the enzyme requires RNA with m7GpppN cap structure as a substrate. The resulting Cap1 structure enhances mRNA translation efficiency, improving expression in transfection and microinjection experiments. Manufactured under GMP-compliant conditions, it is produced in the aqueous form and can be used for in vivo and in vitro Cap1 capping reactions.
