Overview:
SignalChem Diagnostics Hot Start E-Taq DNA Polymerase, Glycerol-Free (5 U/μL) is a hot start DNA polymerase with dual antibody-based blocking. It is designed to inhibit both the 5'→3' polymerase activity and the 5'→3' exonuclease activity of Taq DNA polymerase. A short 30-second heating step at the pre-denaturation temperature fully inactivates the antibodies, thereby restoring both enzymatic activities.
The dual blocking mechanism effectively prevents nonspecific amplification due to mismatches or primer dimers and minimizes fluorescence signal loss caused by probe degradation. This enhances the stability of in vitro diagnostic reagents during storage or use at room temperature. Additionally, the glycerol-free formulation is specifically optimized for lyophilized reagent preparation.
